  The use of saliva as a source of DNA over blood samples has become an attractive approach for various applications ranging from genetic studies to pathogen detection. Unlike blood sampling, saliva collection is an easy, painless, and non-invasive method which do not require trained personnel for the collection process. In addition, saliva does not coagulate which makes it easier for handling than blood. However, storing saliva samples can be problematic. The SPINeasy DNA Kit for Saliva from MP Biomedicals makes saliva sampling easier by using our specially formulated Saliva Preservation Solution (SPS) to preserve the sample at room temperature without compromising the quality. SPINeasy DNA Kit for Saliva allows DNA from fresh, frozen, or SPS-preserved saliva to be extracted with a quick and easy protocol, using silica spin-column technology. Purified DNA is recovered in high yield and purity, suitable for various downstream molecular applications.
